The Los Angeles Fire Department SERTOMA CLUB......

The word SERTOMA is an acronym for the term
Service-to-Mankind.  SERTOMA is a service organization that was established
in Kansas City, Missouri in September, 1912.  SERTOMA is an International order with over 850 Clubs.  These clubs are
located in Canada, Mexico, Russia and the United States.  SERTOMA has over 25,000 members.

The LAFD SERTOMA Club received its charter in March 1980, and has just celebrated its 27th anniversary.  The LAFD
SERTOMA Club is the main sponsor for the Department's "Toys for Needy Children".  Since 1977, this Toy Program has
distributed over 2 1/2 million toys.

The KABC-TV's "Spark of Love Toy Drive" has a very positive collaboration with the Department's Toy Program.  Together
those two charity agencies have experienced excellent success.
